Every fee on Secure Auto Market, in plain language. There are only two things to know: what a buyer pays on top of the price of the part, and what a vendor pays us to sell. The second one is nothing.

If you are buying

You pay the price of the part, the delivery you choose, and a Buyer Protection Fee of R19.90 plus 6.5% of the parts in your order. TradeSafe adds its own payment fee when you pay.

If you are selling

R0

No listing fee, no commission, and nothing charged for the courier booking. You receive the full listed price of every part you sell.

Nothing here is a surprise. Every one of these lines is shown to you at checkout, and the payment fee is shown on TradeSafe’s page, before you confirm payment.

2. A worked example

A R2 450 headlight, sent to a PUDO locker in a medium parcel, paid by EFT:

Paying by card instead would make the payment fee R84.76, and SnapScan R116.36. The vendor still receives R2 450.00 either way.

On an oversized part that you deliver with your own courier, you also receive the delivery fee you set, on top of the item price.

You never have to request a payout. As soon as the buyer accepts the part — or the 24-hour inspection window passes after delivery — TradeSafe releases the money straight into your bank account. The Payments page in your dashboard is the record of what has been paid to you.

4. The Buyer Protection Fee

This is the only fee Secure Auto Market charges, and the buyer pays it.

R19.90 + 6.5% of the value of the parts in the order.

  • The percentage is worked out on the parts only. Delivery and the fee itself are not included in that calculation.
  • It is charged once per order, not per item.
  • It is shown as its own line at checkout before you pay.

It pays for the escrow facility that holds your money until you have the part, the courier booking made for the vendor, and our support team when something goes wrong. Because vendors are charged no commission, their listed prices are not marked up to cover it.

5. Delivery prices

Delivery is priced by the size of the parcel, which comes from the weight the vendor entered on the part. You always see the exact amount at checkout before you pay. There are three options:

Door delivery The Courier Guy brings it to your address. A fixed price per parcel size
Vendor-arranged For parts too big for a locker — rim sets, bonnets, engines. The vendor ships with their own courier. Set by the vendor, shown on the listing and at checkout

Vendors are never charged for a PUDO booking. Secure Auto Market delivers within South Africa only.

6. The payment (escrow) fee

This fee is charged by TradeSafe, our escrow provider — not by us, and none of it comes to Secure Auto Market. It is added on TradeSafe’s payment page and depends on how you choose to pay:

Percentages are of your order total, and VAT is added to the fee. The exact amount is displayed on TradeSafe’s payment page before you confirm.

7. Refunds and offers

If you are refunded

You get back the price of the part, the delivery charge and the Buyer Protection Fee you paid at checkout. TradeSafe’s payment fee may not be refundable depending on how you paid — we will tell you if that applies before the refund is processed. The full detail is in the Refunds and Returns Policy.

If you make an offer

An offer may not be more than 30% below the listed price, covers a single unit, and does not include delivery or the Buyer Protection Fee. The vendor can accept, counter or decline.

  • All amounts are in South African rand.
  • The fee shown to you at checkout is the fee that applies to your order.
  • This page is the Fees Guide referred to in our Terms and Conditions, and forms part of them (clause 9). If we change a fee we will publish the updated guide here and give reasonable notice.
